IT Case Studies

Case Study 1
Chicago-based manufacturing company was looking for a Web Portal Reporting method that would let them see year-to-date sales vs. last year’s year-to-date sales. They also wanted Month-to date vs last year’s month-to-date. And they wanted a drill-down function to be able to see products purchased last year vs. this year so they can see which products had increased or decreased. Also, the company wanted to group the customers by sales person so they could see the salesperson’s productivity year over year and month over month. This helped the company increase sales by 9% by having visibility into their salesforce and customers on an up-to-date report available at any time and anywhere.
Case Study 2
A Chicago-based importer was receiving products at several locations across the country. They wanted to be able to put QC functions into an application on computers which would allow them to charge back to the vendor all defective products received at any location and track defectives with Reports. The client wanted the app to be able to send emails to the internal staff and the vendors, when desired, at the time of the inspection. The resulting app saved the company over $250,000 annually.
Case Study 3
A client had purchased a new building and wanted to move their operation and staff to the new location. The entire building had to be outfitted with CAT6 ethernet and all servers, switches, cameras, Wi-Fi had to be moved to the new location so that on a Monday morning, they could startup and function as normal without interruptions. We came in on-budget, without any cost overruns and with a completely smooth first day.
Case Study 4
A food-service supplier was faced with losing a major client around COVID and was forced to layoff their IT person. We were able to come into the organization and were able to keep things running smoothly without any technical documentation. In our review of the infrastructure, we found their ISP was overcharging them but there was no redundancy between their two locations. We were able to switch ISP’s and lower their cost by $12,000 a year and then bring in a redundant circuit and provide auto-failover. They saved over 65 hours per year in productivity along with the $12,000 annually from the new ISP.
